These Elections are for Staff * to serve on Staff Council starting at the beginning of the 2014-2015 Academic Year.

As the governance body for Staff * at UVM, Staff Council plays an important role in seeking out and responding to the ideas and concerns of staff and representing these to the University administration while also striving to create a cohesive community that has a positive impact on staff culture and promotes the betterment of all in our community.

Staff Council appoints staff to serve on committees of the Board of Trustees, the University Benefits Advisory Council, and other key groups at UVM. This includes the monthly Staff Council meeting on the first Tuesday of every month and participation on at least one of our four standing committees: Compensation, Benefits and Budget; Outreach,Assessment, and University Engagement; Personal and Professional Development & Occupational Environment; Social.

UVM encourages supervisors to provide reasonable, paid release time for employees to serve on Staff Council. Find out more in the Staff Handbook on Leaves and Time Off under Community/Professional Service
