14th Annual International Agroecology Shortcourse at UVM
July 7 - 20, 2013
- 02-07-2013
- By Martha J Caswell
The International Agroecology Shortcourse, organized in partnership between Dr. V. Ernesto Mendez, Associate Professor and head of the Agroecology and Rural Livelihoods Group at UVM and Dr. Stephen R. Gliessman, Alfred Heller Emeritus Professor of Agroecology, University of California, Santa Cruz, will be held this summer in Vermont for only the second time in its history.
During the course, participants from around the world will gather at UVM to learn about "Agroecological Approaches for Climate Change and Food Systems Resilience." The Shortcourse is open to faculty, students and the wider community and will bring renowned leaders from the field of agroecology to the UVM campus.
Because Dr. Mendez will be on sabbatical next year, for students who need PSS/ENVS 212 as a graduation requirement, this will be the only opportunity to take the course until 2014.
