Instilling an Institutional Commitment to Efficiency and Effectiveness:

Our commitment to efficiency and effectiveness realigns resources, reallocations, and revenue with academic priorities to maintain financial sustainability while achieving our most important goals. The University has made considerable progress in developing a new sustainable Incentive-Based Budget model in consultation with constituents across campus. UVM already partners with institutions of higher education, state organizations, and local businesses to share and optimize critical resources and facilities in the region for the benefit of the University and the State.

  • Incentive-based Budgeting

    The University implemented a new sustainable Incentive-based Budget model for FY 2016

  • Taft School

    The new Vermont State Health Laboratory and UVM Research Facility, which will open in Fall 2015, is a new state-of-the-art facility for shared medical research

  • Administrative Unit Review

    Administrative Unit Review assesses each unit’s quality, efficiency, and effectiveness and encourages strategic development that reflects the University’s priorities


    UVM partners with Vermont Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) through the National Science Foundation to promote research development and innovation in Vermont and nationwide

  • VT Center for Emerging Technologies

    Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies (VCET) is a business incubator located on our campus that partners with UVM to support emerging technology firms in Vermont

  • Multipurpose Event Center

    UVM is a founding member of the Vermont Food Systems Consortium with five of the leading institutions of higher Education in the state

  • Multipurpose Event Center

    The University encourages partnerships with businesses in the region and provides resources, facilities, and services through the Business Engagement Portal
