President's Commission on Diversity & Inclusion:

The mission of the President’s Commission on Diversity and Inclusion is to make recommendations to the President, acting as a catalyst and advocate in furthering the University’s goal of creating a community of mutual engagement for all identity groups. There are multitudes of ways in which we may differ: age, economic class, religion, linguistic history, national origin, physical abilities, and social background, to name a few. The mission of the President’s Commission on Racial Diversity is to make recommendations to the President, acting as a catalyst and advocate in diversifying and strengthening UVM to be a national model for how racial and ethnic equity can be achieved in a university context. The mission of the President’s Commission on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Equity is to make recommendations to the President, acting as a catalyst and advocate in ensuring equity for members of the LGBTQA community, and addressing sexual orientation and gender identity issues throughout the University. The mission of the President’s Commission on Social Change is to make recommendations to the President, acting as a catalyst and advocate in addressing key challenges facing the health and safety of UVM’s campus community.
