The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is the senior-level position responsible for the overall leadership of information technology at the University of Vermont. The CIO reports to the President and is an active member of the senior leadership team, providing the IT strategy and vision that advances the mission, vision, and goals of the University of Vermont.
The CIO leads Enterprise Technology Services (ETS), providing vision, leadership, strategy-development, planning, and management for this central information technology group.
The CIO provides leadership for all aspects of information technology, including administrative, academic and research functions. The CIO leads ETS, distributed information technology units, and campus stakeholders to optimize the efficiency of institutional systems; manage information technology challenges involving risk; achieve greater levels of cost savings, service, and innovation; provide a high level of information technology support to both central and local units; and ensure that these systems and services meet critical stakeholder needs.
