Raccoon Tracks
An exploration along a muddy stream bank in Putney will often reward the backyard naturalist with a glimpse of several animals' tracks, including those of the raccoon. The raccoon hand has five elongated fingers, like a human’s, which are used for eating fruits, seeds, crayfish, turtle and bird eggs, freshwater mussels, and rummaging through garbage cans.
