  • If you have a Windows machine, install Linux. Ubuntu is good. You can use a virtual machine.
  • Necessary for graduate students: LaTeX and variations.
Other options:
  • NetworkX: Alternative complex networks analysis with Python.
  • Gephi: Open source; data analysis built-in.
  • Graphviz: Command-line tools for producing graph visualizations. No analysis.
