The Invisible Universe of the Human Microbiome

Did you know there are 10 times more microbe cells in and on you than your human cells? You are an entire eco-system called a microbiome. If you interest is piqued think about attending a great class at City Market called "Magnificent Microbes, Healthy Guts". Share this post on FB for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to pay for the class or buy a snack afterward.

Did you move off campus to cook more? Try these CSA options!

CSAs or Community-Supported Agriculture is a great way of participating in the localvore movement that lessens the distance from farm to table of your food while supporting local farmers. We are lucky to have plenty of options for CSAs. Two popular choices direct from UVM and downtown Burlington. Check them out below. Pro-Tip: You can sign-up for shares for as little as a few weeks to the whole year depending on your needs.

The mission of Cat Farm is to model sustainable farming practices through a working vegetable and fruit farm that provides educational and research opportunities for the UVM community. Students are integral in carrying out all activities of the farm...[and] also contributes to the local food system of the university by marketing the student-grown produce back to the UVM community through a campus farm stand, CSA shares, and wholesale accounts with University Dining Services. Learn more about Cat Farm and sign-up for CSA here.

We are committed to offering our members the best local food available in Vermont, delivered year-round. We want you to feel good about what you eat!

Our community of farmers and food makers are at the heart of everything we do. We have close relationships with all of our producers, and our goal is to provide 100% transparency and traceability so that you can get to know them, too. Learn more or sign-up here.
