What is a Peer Note Taker?
A peer note taker is a current student at UVM who volunteers to provide their class notes to the note taking department at UVM in order to benefit a classmate who has a disability that inhibits them from taking effective class notes.
A good peer note taker will have, or learn, the following qualities:
- Organization
- Regular Attendance
- Penmanship
- Proper Grammar
- Proficient Spelling
- Attention to detail
- Accurate and detailed note taking
Is Peer Note Taking Right For You?
Peer note taking is an easy, productive and rewarding way to help others while furthering yourself as a student. By becoming a peer note taker you are becoming part of a large and diverse team of individuals who help students with various disabilities to succeed at UVM. Many note takers find that the work they are doing is really not work at all, but a way in which to grow as a scholar and an individual while also earning various benefits and knowing that they are helping others in need.Last modified May 23 2012 11:46 AM
