Eligible students in the College of Education and Social Services may declare a concentration in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

For the concentration, a minimum of 30 credit hours must be taken from the following course list:

*Although specific Linguistics courses are listed, any linguistics course may be used to satisfy concentration requirements except LING 1400 and LING 2510. LING 1400 and LING 2510 may not be counted towards the concentration.

*Students cannot count both CSD 1230 (Linguistics for Clinicians) and LING 1500 (Introduction to Linguistics) towards the concentration.

*Only one Statistics course may be taken.

*CSD 3899 is restricted to seniors.

*CSD 6430 pre-requisite: Must have taken 9 credits in CSD and instructor permission is required.

Requirements for entrance into the CSD graduate program at UVM include complete of courses equivalent to: CSD 1230 (Linguistics for Clinicians) OR LING 1500 (Introduction to Linguistics), CSD 1940 (Development of Spoken Language), CSD 2010 (Speech and Hearing Science), CSD 1220 (Phonetics) OR LING 2510 (Phonetic Theory and Practice), CSD 3810 (Cognitive Neuroscience) and a course in Statistics.
