UVM Lane Series and the Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival are delighted to partner in presenting a mini-festival of early and middle period Beethoven piano trios with Gloria Chien, piano; Soovin Kim, violin; and cellist Paul Watkins of the Emerson String Quartet. With two days of concerts at the UVM Recital Hall bookending a full day of community outreach, these three brilliant musicians will share their unique insights into this incredibly rich vein of chamber music. Friday’s evening program includes Beethoven’s Piano Trio in E-flat major, Op. 1, No. 1 and his Piano Trio in E-flat major, Op. 70, No. 2; and Sunday afternoon will feature the Piano Trio in C minor, Op. 1, No. 3 and the iconic Op. 70, No. 1, “Ghost” Trio in D major.
