Short for Web-based seminar, a webinar is a presentation, lecture, workshop or meeting that is transmitted over the web so you can “attend” without physically leaving home. Just like face-to-face education, webinars offer opportunities for people to learn, ask questions and share experiences and ideas with others.
New Farmer Project webinars are based on suggestions from beginning farmers like you. Each webinar combines a presentation from an expert with lots of opportunities to ask questions and interact with the presenter and other participants.
Vermont New Farmer Project webinars are free. The 2014-2015 New Farmer Project webinar series is supported in part by the Vermont Agency of Agriculture and Working Lands Enterprise Board.
Vermont New Farmer Project webinars are generally scheduled in the evening or around noontime. Most are about one hour long. Additionally, our webinars are recorded and posted here on our website, so you can also view it later when it's convenient for you.
All you'll need is an Internet connection and a computer you can hear sound through. The type of computer or operating system you use doesn't matter. A broadband connection to the Internet is helpful but not required. Just click on the webinar title to join to the session. It's a good idea to visit the webinar site a few days before the scheduled session to make sure you have the appropriate software and web connection. Then, just click the link to the webinar’s virtual room about 15 minutes before the start time. Or, watch recordings of past webinars at our webinar archive.

The New Farmer Project isn't the only one creating farming webinars. Learn the latest in organic farming practices and research by attending or watching an eOrganic Webinar, a project of eXtenstion. Sign up for upcoming webinars to watch slides, listen to the presenter, and type in questions during the live event. Or, watch recordings of past webinars in their webinar archive.
Find webinars on marketing, business development, and regulatory issues that affect farm businesses at the Entrepreneurs and their Communities section of the eXtension website. The entrepreneurship team is dedicated to effectively serving the information and educational needs of entrepreneurs and strengthening the capacity of community leaders and citizens to foster and sustain the entrepreneurial dimensions of their local economies.
