Marketing Toolshed: Pricing Information

Vermont Direct Market Price Reports

University of Vermont Extension is piloting an on-line price reporting system for vegetables, berries and bedding plants in 2010. Our goal is to help farmers share information about what they charge at direct markets (farmstands, farmers' markets, etc) for these products, in order to set prices that are fair to consumers while supporting farm profitability. Keep in mind that knowing what other growers charge is just one part of pricing your products. In order to price for profit, you also need to know your own cost of production.
