Capturing Money Using Quickbooks- A Basic Course

Time: 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Location: Hudson Falls, NY
Description: This hands-on workshop will provide some good background, basic info and use a computer lab for inputting info. A case farm will be used throughout the class as an example to provide valuable info and examples. Space is LIMITED. Cost: $50 per farm for up to 2 people. BF 102: Markets and Profits - Exploring the Feasibility of Your Farming Ideas

Time: 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Location: Webinar Course
Description: Identify farm goals and timelines for an enterprise
Begin to develop enterprise budgets and understand the potential for profitability with selected agricultural products
Explore marketing outlets and concepts important for successfully branding and selling your product
Understand that everything in farming is interconnected
The course runs Thurs. Jan. 16 - Feb 20, with webinars once weekly on Thurs. evenings from 7-8:30pm EST. The cost is $200, and multiple people from the same farm may participate without paying extra.

Intro to Ag Financial Management: Early Registration Deadline

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Location: Burligton, St. J, White Rvr
Description: For all farmers interested in financial management basics.

Where: Burlington, St. Johnsbury & White River Junction
Dates: February 5, 12, 19, 2014 (snow date Feb 26)
Time: 1-4 pm
Cost: $80
Registration deadline: Jan. 20, Cost: $120
Registrations received after Jan. 20 will be subject to a $25 late fee.

This course provides farmers with the knowledge they need to understand and complete a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement. Participants will learn the basics of budgeting and skills to anticipate the financial needs of their farm operations. Participants can choose to participate in a clinic with one-to-one assistance at no additional charge.

Classes will be offered simultaneously in multiple locations in Vermont, with an on-site instructor at each location. Registration discounts are available for people who have completed Growing Places and who register by the early registration deadline.

Scholarship and Financial Aid information: Financial aid is available for eligible individuals. At the end of the registration form, you can make a request for financial aid.
