• What our students have to say...

I joined the program when I was a second semester sophomore. Until that point I had encountered only mildly interesting classes and mediocre advisers and did not expect the MMG courses or professors to be much different. I could not have been more wrong. The advice and support I received in my first months, from both my advisor and professors made for a smooth transition into the department I could not have been more grateful for. My courses themselves were an even bigger surprise. Never had I had information presented to me in such an interesting and interactive way. Although my instructors had very high expectations for every student, their genuine interest in everyone's success made it worth every extra hour I spent working outside of class. MMG is, in my opinion, the best department at the University of Vermont. I have never felt such a sense of belonging anywhere else throughout my academic career. The students, and more importantly the staff, are a group of intelligent, caring, wonderful people who helped me develop a love for my studies I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I consider myself very lucky to have stumbled upon the MMG department and could not have been happier with the academic experience they gave me.
