MMG students defend proposals for CALS Distinguished Undergraduate Research Award
September 2009: Four MMG students successfully defended their research proposals for CALS Distinguished Undergraduate Research (DUR). The DUR award is given to students that successfully complete original scholarly research and is one of the highest honors CALS bestows. In March & April 2010, these students will publically present their work and defend their theses.

Mulu Lubula (Mentor: Chris Huston, Medicine) – The Role of the Endoplasmic Reticulum in Entamoeba histolytica’s Phagocytosis Activities
Anurag Shukla (Mentor: David Krag, Surgery) – Identification of Target Antigens on Breast Cancer Stem Cells Using Phage-Developed scFv Antibodies: A Proteomic Approach
Alec Stranahan (Mentor: Greg Gilmartin, MMG) – Translational Regulation of Drosophila Notch
