“Highlights of ASCO 2013” is our annual review of the most important international clinical oncology meeting of the year, featuring updates in clinical and translational cancer research as well as treatment in primary disease sites and cancer prevention. The event is for physicians, oncology nurses, and all other medical and oncology professionals. For 16 consecutive years, the Vermont Cancer Center has coordinated this review as a service to its members, staff, and their regional healthcare colleagues.

At the conclusion of this meeting, participants will be able to describe new treatments for cancer presented at the national 2013 ASCO meeting, understand limitations of data behind cancer treatment, and gain a better understanding of support in the management of cancer. Join us for this invaluable opportunity to hear regional cancer specialists review the most important presentations from the national ASCO meeting. Key data will be presented, interpreted, and analyzed. Ample time for questions and discussion will be provided.

This year's keynote address will be delivered by Tim Ahles, PhD. Dr. Ahles currently leads the Neurocognitive Research Laboratory at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. His research is focused on investigating cognitive changes associated with cancer and cancer treatments. He will discuss the cognitive impairment known as chemobrain, which commonly occurs as a result of cancer treatment.
