As part of the Urology Research Laboratory at the University of Vermont we are studying treatments of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostate cancer. Research projects ongoing or completed in the department:
Tissue chemoablation with the use of interstitial injection of 98% ethanol: Ex vivo studies and acute in-vivo experiments on the canine animal model.
Prostate ablation using transurethral intraprostatic absolute ethanol injection. Chronic in-vivo study in canine animal model.
