Cataract Team

The Department of Surgery, in alliance with Fletcher Allen Health Care,Vermont's only academic medical center, is seeking applications from outstanding candidates for the following positions. These academic physicians will be appointed in the Clinical Scholar Pathway at a level commensurate with years of experience and accomplishments. These are full-time, 12-month, salaried, faculty appointments and carry with them attending staff privileges at Fletcher Allen Health Care. All applicants must be board certified or board eligible in their specialty, eligible for licensure in the State of Vermont, and eligible to practice in the United States. These surgeons will join the 500-plus members of the University of Vermont Medical Group (UVM MG), the practice group for physicians jointly employed by UVM and Fletcher Allen Health Care, Vermont's only academic medical center.

Ophthalmology Job Openings

Comprehensive Ophthalmologist

Applicants must have completed a board approved 3 or 4-year Ophthalmology residency. Duties include providing clinical care to ophthalmology patients and teaching the principles of ophthalmology to medical students, undergraduate students in Allied Health, and residents.

Retina Specialist

Applicant must have completed a board approved 3 or 4- year Ophthalmology residency and 2-year clinical Vitreoretinal Fellowship. Duties include providing clinical care to ophthalmology patients and teaching the principles of ophthalmology to medical students, undergraduate students in Allied Health, and residents.

Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon

Applicantsl must have completed a board approved 3 or 4-year Ophthalmology residency and a clinical Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship Program. Duties include providing clinical care to ophthalmology patients and teaching the principles of ophthalmology to medical students, undergraduate students in Allied Health, and residents.

Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician

Fletcher Allen Health Care, the teaching hospital of the University of Vermont College of Medicine, is an ACS verified Level I Trauma Center for both adult and pediatric patients and a major tertiary referral center for the State of Vermont and upstate New York. With an annual census in excess of 62,000 patients, including over 8500 children, the Emergency Department is known for high quality patient care and dedicated teaching faculty.

Applicants must be a board certified or board eligible Pediatrician or Emergency Medicine Physician with fellowship training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Preference will be given to those with experience in teaching, clinical, and research activities.

Transplant Surgery & Immunology

Transplant surgery is evolving at a tremendous rate and FAHC is at the cutting edge of clinical care. Applicants must be board certified in General Surgery with additional training in a 2-year ASTS accredited Abdominal Organ Transplant Fellowship.

Urology – Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery

Our free-standing, fully-equipped Continence Center is in need of a surgeon with advanced training in an ABU certified Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship. FAHC also offers an OR robotic suite equipped with the da Vinci S.
