Teaching tomorrow's surgeons
We provide surgical services and surgical training at Fletcher Allen Health Care, a tertiary care academic medical center. We are proud to be an integral part of this high quality, cost efficient health care center. Our mission is to provide excellent patient care, superb resident and medical student training, and to foster research and innovation.
Faculty and training
We strive to recruit and retain the best faculty members. Currently, we have about 85 faculty members across a wide range of specialties, with residency training programs in General Surgery, Urology, Neurosurgery, and Otolaryngology.

Each division focuses on individual educational and research objectives and academic activities including fellowship training, research, and other scholarly work.

Tandoh Named Assistant Dean for Diversity and Inclusion
Margaret Tandoh, MD, assistant professor of surgery, has been appointed assistant dean for diversity and inclusion at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, effective November 1, 2012.
