The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Vermont and Fletcher Allen Health Care is committed to excellence in teaching, research, service and the practice of clinical and anatomic pathology. Research

We excel in clinical and basic disease-related research. We align clinical research with the goals of the clinical enterprise and actively engage our clinical faculty. Basic research is focused in three areas: environmental pathology, cardiovascular disease, and experimental pathology. We actively engage residents and medical students.

We are a regional resource for laboratory diagnosis and treatment of human disease through our teaching and clinical partner Fletcher Allen Health Care. We provide complete, state-of-the-art diagnostic, consultative and therapeutic services, and work with providers to establish cost-effective high quality programs.
