Medical Complications of Pregnancy, Obesity and Pregnancy, Prenatal Ultrasound

Research Interests

Dr. Phillips’ primary research interest is obesity and pregnancy, with particular emphasis on gestational weight gain, pregnancy complications related to obesity, and postpartum weight retention. Current activities include defining the problems associated with obesity and pregnancy in Vermont, implementing an antenatal intervention to minimize gestational weight gain through an NIH COBRE grant, and examining inflammatory and thrombotic markers in obese pregnant women in collaboration with Dr. Kelley McLean.
