Message from the Division Chief

The Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology Unit offers comprehensive care for individuals with arthritis, systemic inflammatory diseases and musculoskeletal problems. The faculty includes nine Rheumatologists who see patients five days a week at the Gartman Medicine Specialty Center located in the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) on the campus of the University of Vermont. We have 24 hour, 7 days per week coverage for inpatient consultations and have several outreach clinics throughout Northern and Central Vermont.

The Osteoporosis Center is located within the Rheumatology outpatient area and provides state-of-the-art bone density analysis for clinical and research purposes. This center is equipped with two Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometers and a Musculoskeletal Ultrasound machine.

Our Unit operates the FAHC/Rheumatology Infusion Center for the administration of Biologic and Bisphosphonate medications and experimental drugs under research protocols.
