Connecting academic excellence and research with education & patient care
Our educational programs and research opportunities promote the education of the community, staff, and students. Our research activities include the study of treatment of osteoporosis, the role of T lymphocytes in Lyme arthritis, and the immune mechanisms operative in rheumatoid arthritis.
Clinically, we offer comprehensive care for individuals with arthritis, systemic inflammatory diseases and musculoskeletal problems. Our board-certified rheumatologists see patients daily.
Research & Education
Our division educates fellows, residents and medical students with opportunities to participate in research from bench to bedside.
We train graduate students and post doctoral fellows as they pursue their degrees. The Rheumatology division is also involved in advancing the medical knowledge of community and regional medical professionals.
Faculty members maintain active clinical, translational, epidemiology, and basic science research programs. Clinical research includes treatment and prevention protocols and investigator-initiated, cooperative group, and industry trials.
