Message from the
With expertise in diverse aspects of digestive health and disease, we actively engage students and trainees in the classroom, in the clinic, and in research settings. Our investigators contribute to the field of digestive diseases with research areas that include, but are not limited to, gastrointestinal neurobiology and pathologic disorders, liver cell physiology and pathobiology, esophageal motility disorders, and pancreatic cancer.
Physician faculty in the Gastroenterology & Hepatology unit are all board-certified subspecialists and members of the attending medical staff at The University of Vermont Medical Center, the flagship teaching hospital of the University of Vermont College of Medicine.
Our team was recognized in 2011 by US News and World Report as “High Performing,” a descriptor that indicates a performance that is competitive with gastroenterology units at US News “Best Hospitals in the Nation.“

Professor of Medicine
