Student Affairs provides support, information and services that guide and assist students throughout their medical education experience. For an overview of our policies and procedues, view the Student Handbook (pdf).
UVM utilizes a multi-level approach for academic support programs, with course directors, peers, faculty advisors, and specialized external resources all supporting the academic needs of students.
Advisors and mentors play an essential role in guiding students through medical school, and many resources are available to help with choosing a career in medicine.
Starting in the first year, medical students receive hands-on clinical training to acquire the skills necessary to become practice-ready physicians. These skills are introduced during the student's first venture into the medical school curriculum and then taught and evaluated during all four years of their medical school experience.
Our services for students begin with prospective students and continue on to help our Alumni as they enter their residencies and beyond. We advise students on all aspects of their student aid including financing their medical education, debt management matters, and financial literacy.
