Course: MD 567 - Foundations of Medicine
This course addresses the fundamental concepts, principles and methods of biochemistry, cellular metabolism, molecular genetics, cell biology and physiology, including cell signaling, cell-cell and cell-environment communication, cell proliferation and cell death. Several student group sessions relate basic sciences to clinical disease. The course concludes by introducing the basic concepts of neoplasia and cancer biology (6 weeks).
