Funds That Support The UVM College of Medicine

The UVM College of Medicine Fund is the College’s priority annual giving fund. This fund provides annual support to medical students through scholarship, research opportunities, technology investment and development, as well as alumni outreach.

The Freeman Foundation Legacy Medical Scholarship Fund supports students who plan to return and serve the health care needs of Vermonters. It honors the Freeman Family's Legacy of providing scholarship support to assist UVM College of Medicine students to become Vermont doctors, especially in underserved or rural areas.

The Larner Fund supports medical students through loans with a competitive interest rate and a residency deferment. The fund was started in 1987 by Robert Larner, MD'42 and Helen Larner, who recognize the importance of offering favorable loans to today's students while ensuring the growing availability of such loans to medical students in perpetuity. Each year the fund is supported by many alumni whose gifts are matched by Dr. and Mrs. Larner.

The Dean’s Strategic Investments Fund is a fund for major, unrestricted gifts that give the Dean long-term flexibility for strategic priorities.
