This page and the accompanying website contain important information to assist you between the tim eof acceptance and matriculation in August. We will continue to add information to this site throughout the fall and early spring.

  • Please keep your PREFERRED Contact Information updated in the AMCAS system. Until matriculation, those are the phone number, e-mail address, and regular mailing address that the university will use to contact you.

Important Dates:

  • Closer Look Revisit Day will be Friday, May 2, 2014. Individual revisit days can also be scheduled with the Office of Medical Student Admissions.
  • Orientation and Registration begins on Monday, August 11th, 2014.Orientation week is August 11-15

Closer Look Day - Choose Your Own Medical School Adventure

Please join us for UVM College of Medicine Closer Look Day. We have a full day of exciting and informative activities planned and you will have the opportunity to go beyond your interview day experience and gain an inside look at the UVM College of Medicine- up close and hands on. Please RSVP by April 1, 2014.

New student orientation begins on August 11, 2014.

Other Reminders

Enrollment Deposit: You must submit your $100 enrollment deposit to hold your seat in the class within the time frame listed in your acceptance letter. This deposit is credited toward your first year tuition. If you notify us in writing by May 15th of your intent to withdraw, your deposit will be refunded.

Withdrawal: If you decide that you are not going to attend the University of Vermont College of Medicine, please let us know in writing that you would like to decline your seat. Please send an email to

Financial Aid: Be sure to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid as soon after January 1, 2014, as possible, in order to be considered for institutional scholarships. You will be sent instructions on how to access your financial aid package beginning in March. To contact the Student Financial Services Office do so via email at

Background Check: Your acceptance is provisional until you have completed and released the results of a criminal background check. More information about the background check is available here.

Multiple Acceptance deadline: Please note that the deadline for those holding multiple acceptances to select one school and release all others is May 15th. In order to receive a refund of your enrollment deposit, we must receive your request to withdraw no later than that date. FacebookClass of 2018 Facebook page: Connect with your future classmates on the Facebook group for the Class of 2018 prior to orientation regarding housing, etc. The name of the group is UVM College of Medicine Class of 2018. Please note that participation is wholly voluntary and anyone who chooses to participate should use good judgment in what is posted and remember that this means of communication should not be considered private or confidential.
