NO LATER THAN July 31 - Secure Housing & Move to Burlington

We suggest planning to move into your Burlington house or apartment by July 31. We strongly urge you to arrange your housing for the coming year as soon as possible. If you wait until the school year starts, your choices could be fewer and more costly. Check out the Off-Campus Housing Info page, as well as the UVM Graduate Housing page to help you get started.

Other Reminders

Activate your NetID and check your UVM e-mail account frequently (May 2013)

The University's official means of communication is your UVM assigned e-mail address. Critical information about financial aid, billing, and your student account will be sent only by e-mail. You may obtain your Net ID and UVM Student ID number by logging into the Online Applicant Center and then visiting uvm.edu/account to activate your NetID and set up your UVM e-mail account. To check your e-mail from any computer, visit webmail.uvm.edu.

Change of Address

Please continue to keep AMCAS informed of address changes. We will be sending out additional mailings through the beginning of August and we want to be sure that you receive these mailings.

Books & Instruments

In July, we will provide you a list of prices for books and instruments used in previous year's courses to give you an idea of costs for the first year. We strongly suggest that you wait until you are here to make purchases, as there may be some changes in books used, and so that you can benefit from the advice of faculty and other students.

Computing @ UVM

Your Dell Latitude Tablet computer will be provided to you during orientation week, fully loaded with the software that you will need as a UVM medical student. The laptop is provided as part of your tuition and will be yours to keep upon the successful completion of medical school. Your computer will be supported through the College of Medicine Information Systems (COMIS)Help Desk and COMIS will provide assistance, training and loaner laptops in the event that your computer needs service.
