The 2014 University of Vermont College of Medicine Running and Marathon team, led by first-year medical students, was 100 runners strong at the KeyBank Vermont City Marathon and Relay in Burlington on Sunday, May 25, 2014. As of May 26, the team had raised more than $17,000 to help fund the Vermont Cancer Center's oncology rehabilitation and research program, Steps to Wellness.
This year's co-captains are Class of 2017 members Amy Hopkins, Jia Xin "Jessica" Huang, Johanna "Joey" Anderson Kelley, and Marie Rose Lemay. Joining them and their fellow students in the team's efforts were oncology rehabilitation patients and family members, as well as clinic staff and UVM and VCC faculty and staff. All team members wore bright yellow jerseys for the race.
