Extension Master Gardener
This non-credit course covers the basics of home horticulture and what it means to be a Extension Master Gardener (EMG). The instructors are comprised of UVM faculty and Vermont horticulture professionals. Course topics include: Botany Basics, Entomology, Plant Diseases, Food Production, Soil Fertility, Perennials and Annuals, Sustainable Landscaping, Rain Gardens, Turf and Weeds, Invasive Plant Control, and UVM Extension Volunteering. Volunteer Internship & Certification
To receive your certificate as an Extension Master Gardener, you must complete a volunteer internship of 40 hours in addition to the Course. Graduates (EMG Interns) will partner with Certified Extension Master Gardeners on local projects. 2014 interns will have until December 2015 to complete their 40 hours.

Admission to the Course
Admission is on a first-served basis and historically this course has filled very early. If you are interested in the course, we urge you to sign up NOW to avoid disappointment. The course fee is $340. The "Extension Master Gardener Sustainable Gardening Manual" and other course materials, plus shipping, is an additional $55. These items will be shipped to students two weeks prior to the course starting. Master Card, Visa and American Express are accepted. Call 802-656-9562 for details.
Enrollment Deadline/Late Fees
The deadline for the 2015 class is January 16th. Thereafter, a late fee of $25 is required. After class begins on February 3, late enrollees must also purchase a DVD of missed classes at $17 per DVD. No late enrollments will be accepted after February 10, 2015.
A maximum of 3 missed classes is allowed. This course runs 13 consecutive weeks. Students are expected to purchase a DVD of any missed class and submit a written summary. The DVD price is $17 each. DVDs are provided only if a student has missed a class.
The full amount, less a $50 processing fee, may be refunded until December 11th. Cancellations that are requested December 12 through January 1 will only receive a refund of $100. After January 1, 2015 we cannot offer a refund.

Registration is confirmed via email within 1-2 weeks of your full payment. This email provides your class location, directions, and the date course materials will be shipped to you. Print and retain this email for your records.
