• The deadline for returning upper-level students to apply to L/L programs is Sunday, March 11, 2012 by 11:59 P.M. (Midnight)
• The list of L/L programs for the 2012- 2013 year will be posted by Wednesday, February 22, 2012.
  • You can view a complete description of each program's learning objectives by clicking on the program's name.
• Consider attending the Living/Learning Program Fair on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 3:00 - 6:00 P.M. in the Fireplace Lounge.
  • Representatives from all L/L programs will be present to answer your questions and give you information about their programs.
• Apply to as many programs as you are interested in using the Programmed Housing Common Application.
  • Please complete your applications thoughtfully. Respond to each essay question in 100 - 200 words.
  • You will be able to rank your prefrence for each program that you apply to.
  • The application deadline for current UVM students is Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 11:59 P.M. (Midnight).
  • Applications received after the deadline will be considered on a space-available basis.
• The program directors of the program(s) that you apply to will review your application(s) and will contact you tentatively by March 16, 2012.
• If you are admitted to a program, the program directors of your program will notify the L/L Director's Office, and you will be assigned to a room in that program.

Application Instructions for New Students

How do I apply?

Incoming first-time/first-year, transfer and exchange students should apply to join a Living/Learning Center program using the on-line Programmed Housing Common Application.

You should complete a separate Program Application for each program that you wish to apply for. You should rank your preference for each program. We recommend that new students apply to at least three programs to increase the likelihood that they will be admitted. All programs do have spaces available for new students, but some programs have limited space.

What Happens with my Application?

Your application will be considered with all other First-Year student applications. The chance of being admitted to a program varies depending on the number of spaces available for First-Year students and the number of applications received. The directors of each program review applications and make final decisions about admittance. In any case, we encourage you to complete your application thoughtfully.

When is the application deadline?

The application deadline for incoming first-year, transfer, and exchange students is Saturday, June 30, 2012 by 4:30 P.M. Applications received after the deadline will be considered on a space-available basis.

When will I find out if I'm accepted into a program?

You will be notified by email (sent to your UVM email account) in August about the program to which you have been admitted.
