Living/Learning Center Arts Initiative

The L/L Arts Initiative will bring together the five following residential programs: Art of Photography, Clay: Pottery, Sculpture and…, Knitting for Knowledge: Fiber Arts & Cultural Patterns, Making the Mark: Creative Art, and Music Appreciation & All that Jazz.  These programs will be housed in the A-Middle and A-High columns in Living/Learning during the 2007-2008 academic year.

All members of the above programs will be asked to play an active role in helping the community to achieve the following four goals. The initial phase of the first year will be used to:

1.       Develop cross program involvement.

2.       Promote wider access to the Creative & Performing Arts through on and off campus involvement in order to support our creative and conceptual practices.

3.       Involve upper level students in offering their knowledge and experience to first-year students through a mentoring role. (Learn more about the Arts Initiative Mentoring Program)

4.       Enhance outreach to arts-related communities within L/L, at UVM and in Burlington and Vermont.

We are eager to collaborate with all interested students and are energized about the possibilities and opportunities that lie ahead of us in the next year.

If you have any questions about the L/L Arts Initiative, please be in touch with Ann Barlow, Photography Co-op Coordinator and L/L Gallery Co-Director or Sarah G. Warrington, L/L Assistant Director.
