FARMS / 2+2: Dairy Farm Management

Note: This program is open only to students who are participating in the UVM – Vermont Technical College “2 + 2” exchange program.

The FARMS Program in Farm Management brings students to UVM transferring as juniors from Vermont Technical College, where they have completed an Associate’s degree in Farm Management or Agricultural Business. This unique 2+2 program requires that the students be on campus for the Fall semester as juniors, followed by the Spring semester in residence at William H. Miner Institute in Chazy, New York. The ability to have these students live together in residence at the Living/Learning Center has made the transfer process much more manageable for these students.

The ability to support one another by living in community with other students transferring to UVM from VTC has dramatically improved the success of this program as measured by the GPA of students since the introduction of the residential component at Living/Learning three years ago. The suite living situation has created a very supportive environment for this group of students.
