After several years' hiatus on the Lane Series, we are delighted to welcome back New York's The Acting Company in a production of Shakespeare's final masterpiece: The Tempest. A shipwreck, an exile, a monster, a magician, a magical spirit, and young love are the elements that come together in this bittersweet and enchanting story. A treasure trove of poetry, drama, and comedy, the Tempest is perhaps one of the richest plays ever written because of its themes of reconciliation and forgiveness. The Acting Company has garnered critical acclaim on a national scale through 35 seasons and 129 productions of great classics and the best of contemporary theater including several world premieres. They are known for their commitment to the careers of young performers, actors like Patti LuPone, Kevin Kline, Jesse L. Martin, and Jeffrey Wright.
Co-presented with the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts.
