"...spacious, elusive, found-sound dronescapes that don't skimp on melody..." Boston Phoenix
The Lane Series and the Fleming Museum join together to present an unforgettable night of horror, right in time for Halloween! After their thrilling performance and screening last year of rare Kung Fu film Red Heroine, we just had to invite the extraordinary three musicians of the Boston's Devil Music Ensemble back for another live musical interpretation of a classic silent film. Nosferatu, like The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari and Metropolis, descended from the same artistic wave of German cinema in the 1920's, is the definition itself of artistic film, where painting, architecture, literature, psychology, and politics meet in a work that gratifies both the eyes and the spirit.
As a special treat for ticket holders, we open the Fleming Museum galleries at 7 pm. Exhibits include: Egyptomania; Napoleon on the Nile: Soldiers, Artists, and the Rediscovery of Egypt; Cuban Artist's Books and Prints: 1985–2008.
