“…(Danú) stirs the blood and lifts the heart.” — Irish Music Magazine
Once again the Flynn Center and the Lane Series join forces to present one of the great traditional innovators in Irish Music. This year we are delighted to bring back one of our favorites: Danú, from County Waterford. Danú is one of today’s leading traditional Irish ensembles, featuring accordion, fiddle, flute, tin whistle, fiddle, bouzouki, and the rich vocals of Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh. Winner of major awards from the BBC and Irish Music Magazine, Danú mixes ancient music with contemporary works to create a spirit-raising concoction that’s “impressive, immersive, and uniquely and unmistakably Irish” (Strings Magazine).
