“He plays his instrument with the kind of poise and maturity that place him at the top of the upper crust of musicians.” – Los Angeles Times
“A pianist who balances qualities of excitement and spontaneity with clarity and elegance.” – The New York Times
Two of the highest-caliber musicians in their areas of specialization, Paul Neubauer (viola) and Anne-Marie McDermott (piano) will be joining the Lane Series for an evening of intimate chamber music: a genre that reverberates so beautifully in our Recital Hall. Paul Neubauer, who, at age 21, was the youngest principal string player in the New York Philharmonic’s history, has the exceptional musicality and effortless playing that distinguish him as one of this generation’s quintessential artists. Anne-Marie McDermott’s technical gifts, exuberance, and intricately expressive interpretations have earned her critical acclaim throughout the world. They will be performing a program of Bach and Brahms.
Pre-performance talk at 6:30pm.
