Founded in Vienna in 1993, the Hugo Wolff Quartett has been a fixture on the international chamber music scene and has fascinated audiences around the world for twenty years. Passionate expression, grand personality, and artistic curiosity are this ensemble’s personal trademarks, and the Hugo Wolff Quartett has earned its reputation through its many awards (such as the European Chamber Music Prize and the top award at the 1995 International String Quartet Competition in Cremona) and acclaimed recordings. The quartett even has its own concert series in the Vienna Konzerthaus. The Lane Series program will include quartets by Haydn, Mozart, and Smetana.
