Title:
Aerial View, Lyndon Mountains in Distance
Town:
Lyndon
County:
Caledonia
State:
Vermont
Date:
1967-10-13
Description:
This aerial photograph looks down on the town of Lyndon. A road runs from the bottom left corner of the photograph through the center of the photograph. Houses line the road and the downtown can be seen in the top center of the photograph. There is a meadow in the bottom right corner of the photograph, and another meadow can be seen on the left side of the photograph. Leafy deciduous and conifer trees populate the landscape, and mountains rise in the top of the photograph. John Adams writes on 2013-10-02: I think Exit 23 off I-91 came through the open area over US 5. It was being built south at the time, but at a slower rate. In 1973, it opened to this exit from the north. At the time of this photo, it ended in White River Jct. about 70 miles to the south. In 1973, they were constructing the last 40 miles of the highway that ended in Bradford 40 miles to the south of this area.
