Title:

Town:
Brattleboro
County:
Windham
State:
Vermont
Date:

Description:
This black and white photograph captures the opening ceremony for I-91 in Brattleboro. More than a dozen cars and a group of spectators have gathered along the newly-completed stretch of highway. A man stands atop a podium at the center of the road. Guard rails line the exit ramp, which extends off the far side of the highway. A utility pole stands on the grassy median that divides the highway. Outcroppings of rock rise in the foreground along the left side of the highway. Several modest dwellings are clustered along another road in the background. Forested hills and mountains rise beyond the line of houses. The season is summer.
