Description:
This black and white photograph looks southeast across the Banfill property, which is located along a highway construction project between Maidstone and Brunswick. A dirt road bed angles up the center of the image. A wood-frame dwelling is sited on the left side of the road. The corner of a garage is visible at the left edge of the image. A fenced pasture is located up the road from the dwelling. Forest spreads out beyond the pasture. Mountains rise in the distance. The season is spring. John Adams writes on 2013-08-18: Road is Rte.102 the only main road which goes along the Conn River from US 2 just before that road crosses the river into Lancaster NH. It goes to Canaan near the Canadian Border. Parts of it were not paved until the mid 1980's Several State Highways here still have dirt sections to this day.
