This is a black and white commemorative plaque for the 1st ski tow in the U.S.A in Woodstock, Vermont. Snow blankets the landscape around the monument. A white, wooden-frame building is pictured toward the back right of the photograph. Leafy conifers and deciduous trees are pictured in the background of the photograph. The monument pictured reads, "Woodstock Vermont. Site of first ski tow in the United States. In January, 1934, on this pasture hill of Clinton Gilbert's farm an endless-rope tow, powered by a Model "T" Ford engine, hauled skiers uphill for the first time.
