Description:
This is a black and white photograph of the Bennington train wreck that occurred on September 7th, 1912. Railroad tracks run across the center of the image. Men and women gather around the wreck to see what it is all about. Utility lines cut across the top of the image. The train has fallen off the tracks entirely. Leafy deciduous trees dot the landscape around the train. Shrubs and other pasture plants sit in front of the tracks.
