Description:
This is a black and white aerial photograph of interstate-89 construction. This photograph depicts a location between Montpelier and Waterbury. On the far left side of the photograph there is a paved road. Parallel to the road are railroad tracks. Utility liens, wood poles, and utility lines are pictured on the left side of the railroad tracks. A wooden-fence lines the right side of the paved road. Automobiles and trucks are seen driving along the road. The landscape on the right side of the photograph is dotted with conifers and leafy deciduous trees. There are small areas that are littered with various materials. Toward the forefront of the photo is a large, steel pole. On the far right of the photo, wire fencing separates the end of the construction site with the landscape dotted with trees. Mountains are visible in the background. Skip Flanders writes on 2010-10-21: This photo shows US Route 2 in the Silver Ledge area of Middlesex during construction of I-89, US Route 2 continues easterly along the CV railroad tracks with the Montpelier City line a mile or so from the bottom of the picture.
