Description:
This is an image of a large house on South St. in Middlebury. The house is white with light blue trim and accents. There is a large brick chimney on the left of the house. A set of stairs on the left leads to a side door and a letter box. There is a package leaning against the wall. The front door is underneath a large covered porch with three columns and another set of stairs. There is a trellis on one side of the porch. Furniture is visible. There is a stretch of green grass and part of a paved sidewalk in front of the house and several leafless shrubs. Purple flowers have begun to come up directly in front of the house. There is a utility line crossing the frame. Part of another white house can be seen to the left. There are several reflective plow stakes in the lawn at the edge of the grass. It is a sunny, blue skied spring day. One of the chimneys has been removed since the historic image was taken. The trellis on the near side of the porch has been added. The walkway in front of the house has been paved. The lawn in front of the house is more extensive in the historic photo and there are more shrubs and trees planted. The house to the left is visible in both photos. The fence in between the two houses has been removed. Utility lines have been added. The additional walkway and boulders leading up to the house in the historic photo have been removed.
