This photograph shows the Battell Bridge of Main Street in Middlebury. In the immediate foreground there is Otter Creek. Mr. Battell copied the stone Battell Bridge's architecture from the Ponte Sant'Angelo in Rome. Behind the bridge, one can see several deciduous trees and what appears to be a large brick building off to the left. The season is most likely summer.
