Title:
Abandoned Building near Chendel's Store
Town:
Stockbridge
County:
Windsor
State:
Vermont
Date:
1962-09-17
Description:
This historic photograph is of a building near Chendel's store in Gaysville. The building is a three-story wooden frame structure that is abandoned. The overhang along the front of the building has completely fallen off on the left, and is badly damaged on the right. There is a sign next to the front door that reads, "Auction." There is a small addition to the right of the building, probably for storage or utility purposes. The side of another building is visible to the left. A paved road crosses in front of both buildings, and utility lines run across the upper levels of the buildings. There is a heavily wooded area in the background. The back of the photo reads, "Front of Building at station 46+00." The season is summer.
