Description:
This historic image is of the Alcorn Lumber Mill just before the little cemetery in Gaysville. The main building in the center of the image is a one-story wooden frame structure, with a small shed-like addition in the back. There is "Mobil" sign visible in front of the building. Behind the main building are storage structures for the lumber. There is a Volks Wagon Beetle parked in front of the building, and a main paved road to the right of the image, in front on the lumber mill. There is a large grassy area in the foreground of the photo, and a dirt road turns off from the main road to the right and crosses this grassy area alongside the lumber mill. The surrounding area is heavily wooded. The back of the photo reads, "Looking westerly from 40 feet right of station 63+00," and in the lower right on the front of the image are the numbers, "6542." The season is summer.
