Title:
University of Vermont Fountain
Town:
Burlington
County:
Chittenden
State:
Vermont
Date:
2005-07-07
Description:
The more recent photograph documents the current University of Vermont fountain, which is different from the original. This fountain has dragons on the bottom that shoot water out of their mouths, and not just a normal fountain on top. This fountain is also set lower in the basin, and has no warning sign attached. The fountain basin is also altered, now made from brick, instead of rounded concrete. Behind the fountain, Waterman can still be seen, with only a new banner and some lampposts that have been added in recent years. The green in front of Waterman is still covered with a mix of conifer and deciduous tree species; however, the trees are much more mature in the current photograph. A car and pedestrians are also visible in this photograph. The large elm visible in the historic photograph appears to be absent from the current photo. The season is summer.
